For =Yunie-B of her WOW couple Orianth and Aldrian!
Mwaha, I had to laugh when I got this commission because I've been meaning to draw a tubby elf for ages now. Aaargh, Tolkienesque elves as a stock fantasy face have become so boring to me, in the way a perfect plastic cube is boring. But take that with a grain of salt! I personally love dragons, the number one most idiotically overused fantasy fauna ever, but what I really love to see are people doing new things with them. If you can make the plastic cube interesting again, you're doin' the creative world a service!
</unprovoked pontificating>
(Aldy's had rather an exciting life and is short one left arm, if that's not reading clearly.) In other news, I am absolutely burnt-out. Commissions are going to be closed for a while, and no, I don't know when they'll be open again. To those who are trying diligently to get words and art out me right now, I'm moving slowly, I'm sorry. I'm tired and having some artistic growing pains I'm trying to massage out using my own work, but I'll be back.
Waited until the impact of this wore off a little so I didn't sound like a gushing fangirl. You have done my characters justice. I couldn't have been more pleased. Thank you.
I like seeing characters that aren't just... perfect. It's nice to see something unique and REAL. Like someone who is kinda chubby or has scars. Someone who may be balding, someone who has a scraggly tooth. Someone covered in freckles, or with a lazy eye!! Everything is so perfect now, with such weird standards! It's boring, I agree.
Your skies are fantaaaastiiiiic. *reaches out to stroke the sunset clouds*
I have a fascination with really short elves, for which I blame *keiiii's webcomic. I always love seeing alternative body types represented in art and/or writing.
Dragons dragons dragons yaaaay!
I had that exact problem with my writing two summers ago. Just went months without writing a word. Luckily I had a couple of friends who kept poking me so I did eventually start writing again, but sheesh, writing was hard for a while there.
My artistic progress is currently going at the same pace as a brick. Strapped to a slug.
Going *backwards*... >_<
And you did the background very well
And good luck on your growing pains
