Ambassador SalspaldaPenny twirled 'round the corner, smacking face-first into a man's chest.

"Omigosh! Sorry, sir!" she said, yanking back. She looked up into the man's face, and froze.

There was no face. There was no head. There was a half-neck protruding from a collar, ruddy and swollen, terminating in a livid cross-section of tubes, muscle, and bone. Penny took three quick stumbles backward, mouth agape, where her brother Cornelius collided with her from behind.

"Penny, what..." he began, before catching sight of the headless body and joining her in a moment of shocked silence. "The devil...?"

Benjamin, my pampered eldest OC, who's been around in one shape or another since I was ten.

_{In case you were wondering why three of these sheets all start in '06, that was my first year of high school (and the year I joined dA) and it really, really sucked. I split with my friend group and pretty much filled the void by working with my characters instead. And haven't stopped since, I suppose.}

Well! I'm happy people are enjoying these. Thanks for the response on Tom's sheet and without further ado, let's dig some unflattering skeletons from dear Ben's closet, shall we? Onwaaard!

As I say, Ben’s always been Ben. The hair, the beard, the height, the laugh, the irrepressibly cheerful nature- I've always held more or less the same mental image of him and as I gain more experience writing/drawing all I do is nudge him closer to it.

The next ~~and last~~ of these will be Cornelius, who is Ben's opposite in that he's almost unrecognizable as himself in the beginning. And we get to see me try to figure out what galatini look like which is a thing of horror in itself.

No, no. Ben came about when I was ten, I didn't draw him until I was sixteen.

Aw, don't we all pamper our eldest OCs? *has urge to go draw yet another picture of my main OC*

Anyways, I really like Ben (first saw him in your Zelda race meme), he seems so full of life and really cheerful. But then, your style makes all your characters seem full of life (even the moody ones lol). But he's particularly likeable and it's really cool to see how much he's progressed through the years.

hahaha i love ben!

honestly, i don't think you gave yourself enough credit. i mean for the really old drawings from ur freshman year in high school. You already knew how to make a human face, how to shade, and how to draw the body and SOME FORM of background. thats more than i can say for many people (including me) from back then. You have come very far since then though! i love seeing how your characters progressed~!

Anyway, given dear ol' Ben's progression here, I have to say, this gives the phrase "noble Jesus lion" a whole new meaning. Seems like Aslan's got some competition! Some exceedingly well-drawn competition, I might add.
