Rage Magda is one of the scariest things I've ever seen (any chance you know the trigger here?). I think I'd rather deal with a castle sized dragon Morgan. Also I have the strongest urge to run my hand through Cornelia's hair.
Also does Morgan sneak the drink into those Council meetings? Haha. Does he often attend those things? Or only on certain occasions when he's needed for particular reasons such as his viewpoints or abilities? Either way I imagine he must absolutely loathe the way those things go.
Confusing, is what he is. Morgan is an it. But that sounds terrible so I pick a pronoun when I can.
Morgan was born a human lady (Morgan Foust), who inadvertently became a small nasty shapeshifting thing in her late teens, and as a consequence has no 'real' human appearance anymore, but is today most widely recognized as the infamous warlock Morgan Daubenmire, and is generally assumed to be male. Morgan actually doesn't align with either sex anymore and takes both forms equally. Sooo, trick question, really. Morgan is everything and nothing.
As a character in my noggin Morgan started as a dude as well, and it took me quite a few months to retrain myself when I decided he was going to be an it that was a she pretending to be a he. It still sometimes ties my brain in knots, which is so good for me and exactly what Morgan is about as a shapeshifter, hopefully making us take a closer look at how much appearances/bodies matter to us. It's been interesting to hear responses to Morgan... some people believe Morgan must be female because she was born that way, others that Morgan must be an it because they physically are, that he must be a guy because that's how he presents himself, that he/she is whatever she/he is at the time, or that from changing bodies so often Morgan is beyond gender. Everything and nothing: it does sound mysterious, and leaves things open to discussion.
Morgan has his own opinions on the subject, but as they mostly consist of sex jokes he's not allowed in the conversation.
Oh wow! the coloring and shading in those fishes is awesome. I wish you draw more in the style of the viking with the spiky ball than the "calarts style" of most of your drawing. Personally I find the calart style a bit too repetitive.
how often do you draw? do you create all these at once? or in different sittings and combine them later? and how long does it take you to draw each individual item typically? and where did you learn? lol I want to draw as well as you!
I draw/paint pretty much every day, for at least a few minutes to many, many hours. These posts are usually a collection of everything I've drawn that month, a good chunk of them ends up being things I've doodled during classes. The time it takes me to draw things varies widely. A lot of the silly little doodles took less than ten minutes, any time I draw people takes more like a quarter or half hour. I think the thing at the bottom of this one was the longest I spent on anything here, two hours kind of thing.
I don't really have training in art, I've just always been interested in doing it so I've practiced a lot. I learn from drawing from life/photos, from looking at what other artists do, and most of all just from sheer practice! Seriously the best thing you can do to help yourself is to just draw. As much as you can. You'll figure things out, you just have to give yourself lots of opportunities to improve.
I do believe that Rabbit now has a low image of me, as i get the impression we just traded ideas of each other with the same exact face on. And even if we didn't, a face like that on a rabbit gets words reserved for anti-muggle pureblood wizards i restrict to the reading of Harry Potter, mainly consisting of sly comments about said wizard.
Other than that, this brain spew is one of my absolute favorites, as i have accidentally taken to saying "Affronted frog, is Affronted" when my parents mess up describing my drawings.
Oh man there is so much awesomeness in this i don't know where to begin! Love Alan and I REALLY hope we are gonna get to see more of him in the future. And Morgan as a glatni....THAT is scary (in a good way for him I suppose) but man THAT makes me scared to get bit by one of them... Jackie contact juggling Charles's skull had me cracking up, all the puns that she could say...and the face he is use to that, only him. I noticed the nymph girl was new but was reading around the comments to see who she was, I like the sound of her! I hope we get to see more of her as well.... that is if she maybe will show herself long enough so you can draw her with how shy you were mentioning she was. and no lie... I love Morgan Foust whenever she shoes up you can soo she crazy phsycotic decidedly older looking Morgan in her despite it all. And rage Magda was just scary.... I felt like I needed to hide in a barricade... I don't EVER want to be on her bad side... I don't even want to think about what she could do when she is that decidedly pissed. And gender bender Montrey Siblings... I about died laughing, yeah Penn.... I don't see much of a difference either....except I am sure Cornelia actually be scared b the male population suddenly doing double takes.
Amazing as always I always do such a happy dance when I see you art show up in my inbox. Makes me want to try harder to draw better cause i love your work so so much.
Hm, in the little line of character body type/height sketches, the character with the uber long, almost watery hair next to Charles...I've never seen her before! Who is that? Also, yay, Bridget! I've been wanting to see more art of her!
That's Neridia! I've not mentioned her yet, I don't think. She's a nymph. Lives in the Library's fountain. Was accidentally 'adopted' by the Librarians, but it's a bit of story. She's really, painful, exceedingly shy. Like, won't even talk with Ben kind of shy. Her and Shad are best buds in a quiet, I-just-like-being-around-you way. She's nearly the perfect antithesis of Vra'kriss, who isn't exactly afraid of her but is made veeery uneasy by the abused innocence she represents.
Haha, she sounds like my shyness. And Neridia is a nice name, I really like it. It'd be cool to see her and Vra'kriss in a sketch together since they're so opposite (and mainly because it'd be funny to see Kriss looking uber uneasy around such a small delicate person )
I want a Zanizard. I want a Zanizard of my very own so that it can glare at people that I do not like and also roast marshmallows for me. All while having a lovely, fluffy pelt.
Cornelia and Penn need to show up again, methinks. Although, Cornelia is looking entirely too chipper to be her regular version's alter ego. She needs to have more disdain in the curl of her lip, though I will admit it seems like the siblings are very capable of making one another laugh genuinely as well as in the spirit of making fun of one another.
Not directly, and I haven't seen Balto in years. Awesome designs, though, certainly, they're probably tucked away somewhere in the subconcious. I'll have to go look them up after this, you're the second person to say so. XD
I really like the rightmost of the Alan concept sketches. Not sure why exactly, but his face just seems to have a ton of character to me. And woo, female/original Morgan! It's really cool how you got her to look like the same person despite the very different face. Oh and I love her huge braid.
Rage Magda looks effectively scary! And Cornelius in a polo is the best. I think it's hilarious when extremely formal characters are put in casual clothes.
Haha, me too! It's that scraggly chin thing, I'm sure of it. I am definitely going to move in the direction of the third doodle. Few of my peeps remind me of anyone living, but after years of puzzling over who Alan was majorly reminding me of, I have come to realize he is an even split between David Beckham and Owen Wilson. We'll have to wait and see if I can draw such a thing.
Aaaah, I am so dearly wishing I could cut all the stupid little things I do out of my life and just sit down and pound out a wiki or something for my stories. D:
Yes, Alan is a Librarian! He's from a classic Western, if you couldn't have guessed. He's a more minor Librarian because he's the Library's courier and is usually elsewhere. He's friendly if stubborn, and something of a loner and a ladies' man like all the best cowpokes. Gets along well with Rebecca through their shared passion for firearms.
