Ker'janim Reference by Altalamatox Ker'janim Reference by Altalamatox
-------Reference Sheet Commission---------------------

For ~laetificat-noctem's felinoid race the Ker'janim! The race inhabits a vast steppe and is divided into over a dozen clans.

The companion image is of Tarida, Laet's protagonist, a 'Seeker' whose job is to venture out of the steppe, see the wider world, and return with innovations that may be useful to her people.

I like this, they're different from usual anthros. And the fact thet males are shorter - I think it's hillarious xD

definitely! :) I wasn't making the assumption that you made the race based off of Skyrim's lore. It's an awesome looking race even still if you ask me :)

Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to sound that way. (; I just wanted to put in that actually no Khajiit ever inspired me to do the Ker'janim/do anything related to them. (;

You know, I don't think I've ever gotten an anti-furry comment on anything anthro I've posted to dA. I suspect this has something to do with the way I put sensible clothes on them, don't have them rolling around a bed or endowed with gratuitous boobage. I would hope most people can tell anthro art from fetish anthro art, and in the latter case it is upsetting so many people need to make assholes of themselves and cuss the artists out for their personal tastes.

My watchers happen to be pretty awesome people so far as I can tell, though. We always seem to have a pretty drama-free time around here. (:

so it would seem although from what i have experienced mention you like anthro art and, you either get a whats that? response or oh your one of those furry freaks huh as response.
i do rather like keeping things Drama free, very well done ref sheet i shall say once more

Very lovely, as always, but the skull doesn't look very... feline. The long muzzle seems more canid to me (except in the dimorphism comparison- those look feline)

Ah, my bad, then. We copied the skull very closely from a cougar's, I think the dark scales on the skull are giving the impression of a dropped muzzle when they're really covering that broad feline arch. Now that I look between the drawings, I think I did stretch the skull's muzzle a tad.

The muzzle looks slightly stretched and, on closer look, the cheeks/cranium look slightly too narrow without a face ruff. But the design is, as I said, very lovely- I always adore seeing your work

True.

I've checked with cougar skulls, too though, and I find it is a good match. Even a little difference is not bad, since they aren't 100% cougar, overall.

Oh my gosh, those feet. And the hands too, for that matter. That's one heck of a pretty race, and a well-thought-out one, too.

I really like Tarida's eyes, too.

You mean as far as the race's appearance goes? It's all Laet's design, though as always when we're working with a race from written descriptions alone, I get to figure out the details. For example, Laet tells me the Ker'janim have armoured scales on their hands and feet, I design what that might look like, and have her approve what I've done.

And thank you!

Those eyes are gorgeous, by the way.
