Ooo. Oooo yes. That is marvelous lighting there, loooooove the interplay of lights and shadows, especially across his form. The little details like the leaves on the branch and the wood grain and everything works wonderfully along with the composition to give it a sense of space within the image.
I just want to say Thank You again for such a wonderful image. The pose is perfect, and the lighting & reflective surfaces are beautiful as is the representation of Shasari A very well balanced piece between the cherry branch and the figure (my fursona Shasari). Great work!
OuO I love this >u< Question though: I've seen a lot of your pencil sketches, but I can't quite tell with this. For the lines, did you just do a really neat pencil sketch and digitally color it, or did you do a lineart? And if you did, what program(s) did you use?
The lines for this are pencil, turned down to 60% opacity, I think. It's probably less that they're neat and more that we can't see them much here. XD Veeeery rarely I'll do line art digitally, and when I do I use Photoshop and an Intuos tablet.
the realisticness of the tile, wood, and the objects set upon the table is astounding. I'm very impressed. The fullness of the character brought on by the light and shadow is also way believable. D': this is really great. I could seriously take some notes on how to improve from this.
What I enjoy most about this is how the plant and the lion are kind of mimicking each other, which i assume was the point. Beautiful lighting and the vase/candle display is hard for me to take my eyes off of!
