On a Steek by Altalamatox On a Steek by Altalamatox
Did this guy in an hour the other night, to massage the craaaamps out of my hand from drawing classwork all day. I'm impressed how much messing with clay helps get the cricks out of my fingers. <3 May have to make this a regular thing.

His name's probably Sedgwick or Francis or something. I may or may not bake him, but for now I am enjoying his company at my desk. Even if he seems to be deeply affront by me and everything I do and the world in general.

If modelling becomes something I do more of I'll start shoving it in Spews or its own mass posts or something.

He's probably terrified of the dramatic lighting
'What's that? Where am I? What's that light? Get it away from meeeeeeeeee!' :ohnoes:

It's really not fair you get to be so talented at all artistic things. It turned out, when I took pottery in high school, that I am really, really bad with clay. : x iEnvy.

Dang....that is GOOD. You could like go into 3d animation modeling...like in movies where they model stuff to design it for a movie so the animators have a 3D reference.

And again! That is so amazing! The look on this fellows face is incredible! Wonderful lighting too, really accentuates the amazing lines you got in the piece, I am so blown away by how cool this is! I personally think it would be awesome to see this guy finished. Even if its simply so he can be some moral support for you... I mean come on... can't be worse then being a head on a stick... and that sounds like some quirky character now...

YOUR CLAYING SKILLZ. And you did that in only one hour. I'm pretty sure if I tried that face, the nose would keep falling off.

I love the cartoony proportions and facial expression of this. I guess now that you got this at your desk you can ask him whenever you need a second opinion. "Sedgwick/Francis! I wanna try mixing orange juice and green tea together and drink it, what do you think?...........ok, you're right."

If modelling becomes something you do more of, then I'd like to see a separate "Clay Spew" of it. I'm used to Brainspews containing only drawings and paintings. But THAT'S JUST ME.

this is amazing! his expression is genius :D
but if he would stay on my desk, I would be truely irritated by him:
"Stop looking at me like this! I know what I'm doing!" ... "Ok, you're right. I'm not." ... "Well, shut up."
It would be great, if you upload more of these clay-things :)

I love this. He is a perfect caricature because he is both expressive and thought provoking. I would keep him, bake him, and maybe find a number of silly little wigs and put them on him.

Where did you learn how to do this?

My teachers keep trying to tell us that we should try all kinds of mediums because what you learn in one may help you in others. I'm always stupidly shocked when I pick up something like clay or wire or physical paint and find that I already know how to make things with it. I guess all this time trying to imagine three dimensional forms for my paintings/drawings has weirdly been giving my noggin practice at making three dimensional things?

BEST IDEA EVER. D: Yes, I think I will bake him, and lord knows where I will find tiny wigs but I will find some. <3

It seems to be so for me! I think my brain is even tired of thinking in two dimensions, I feel more relaxed turning something over in my hands. That and I can switch the damn, hissing laptop off for a while and rest my eyes and ears.

Thank you very much! (:
