School ends tomorrow for us, just in time for me to get sick off my ass. AWESOME. Hopefully my voice will be completely messed up tomorrow morning so presenting my final projects will be super happy fun time.
Anyway.
Project-based classes this year included digital photography, mixed digital media (Flash, Aptana, Audacity), two graphic design courses and an illustration class.
My major is Graphic Design and I hope with all my shriveled little heart I don't actually have to work in the field. I wanna be an illustrator or something and make pretty pictures and subsist on bread and water and suchlike. Typography is awesome but large parts of me just don't caaare.
Don't get excited about the tutorial site, it wasn't for serious.
Graduation in a year. Help me.
Edit: Oh, yes, sorry. Where do go? I attend a public university in the northwestern USA that almost nearly doesn't fund its art department. I went here originally for a science degree and if I'd known I was switching into art I would have gone somewhere more worth my time and money.
Your art inspires me so xD just a quick question, have you ever drawn ratchet and clank? or like it xD i was looking over some of their concept art , since thats my favorite type of art, and some reminds me of something you would do. HOW can you admire other artists D: your work is the best it gets! xD
PFFT, 'course I admire other artists! I admire them like nuts. My idols make me want to cut off my right hand and stop shaming the name of art, and they also make me want to practice my mind out to get where they are. I'm nothing special, though I'm glad you like what I do! <3
I have not played Ratchet & Clank, but it's on my list of games to get a hold of. Funny thing, I came across some of their concept art myself last week and got all excited. It is very good stuff!
Haha xD my most favorite cocept art is this one [link] i adore the fongoids so much! how they glow xD i need to draw more like that. Tell me whenever you draw ratchet and clank ^u^ and i adore everything you like xD expecially kung fu panda
I'm going to guess that while you are clearly enjoying the projects, you wouldn't say the art department of that particular university is worth investing in?
I've been contemplating a university or college for art, but I'm extremely picky. Being a writer, college was never an interest to me as the money for writing degrees isn't worth it, and I've invested my time and money better in seminars and demonstration collaborations. But when it comes to art, I need that physical environment and motivation to get me really into it. Thing is, I'm not looking for a degree, I just need the education and understanding classes to get into art as deeply as I'd like to. I'm having such a difficult time deciding. Any factors I should be heavily interested in or tips you'd think would help?
I feel your pain on the subject of nearly-non-existent art departments. Actually. Yours sounds larger... *envies* Seriously they offer about 10 art classes per quarter. Total. -_-;
All of this is amazing, I LOVE The posters for your favorite artist, I seriously thought they were the real deal and they had come to your school! But man oh man, these are so cool...I bow to your epicness.
