Thought I'd give Nicole some love while I'm on a monster sketching kick.
Nicole Dunn is the other living person with glatnism, what Cornelius has. Her case has its own quirks, most importantly her near-inability to resume human shape. She shows up farther down the timeline than I'm used to thinking, so I neglect her like crazy. I change up her design every time I touch her but I think this round is seeming most like what I've had in mind.
Nicky's genetic soup is courtesy of a rainforest viral strain, which recently hitched a ride on cargo and caused some grief in temperate Thurmund'hl, including Nicole's mutation. It includes bits of bear, jaguar, iguana, frog, and, of course, human being. (She still has her spots, by the way, I was just too lazy to draw them.)
Cornelius' glatnism completely derailed his life. Nicole's has given her diamond-edged purpose: annihilation of the lubii virus by tooth and claw and high-powered explosives.
Maniacal obsession aside, she's a nice young lady. C:
One day, I'll have to try my hand at Nicole. She's a lovely character, and very interesting to look at! She'd be great practice for figure drawing and putting together shapes to make a full form.
love this, she looks so alive! I only have one observation, the top picture with her climbing on the rocks; her front left arm looks a little stiff, like she's not sure if she's reaching forward or simply setting it down. She just might be off balance because she's not a graceful creature in general ( from what I've read on her) IDK
I've got to say, some of her expressions look exactly like my dog's. Which is a good thing. I like the design. Anyway. Imma go back to being a wallflower now. G'day.
Bwaha, a hat trick. XD For a while it's been cartoony physics, yeah, though in her latest revision I've given her some short spines on her head that I'm going to say impale something inside it and hold it there. Or something. It's just there. I presume she actually ditches it when she's doing anything active.
I love how her claws are so tiny, but with the variety of poses you have them in I can tell they're dextrous. And it's interesting to see that glatnism is gender-blind.
Oh yes, I am a fan of not mysteriously letting female monsters be pretty by human standards. However, although it's deeper than her human one, she still has a high enough voice to give away her human sex when she speaks, because I am a hypocrite. Or maybe just feeling sympathetic.
If I haven't mentioned it, glatni, in monster shape, are asexual creatures, so gender-blind indeed.
Out of curiosity, how does her hat stay on? Any particular trick, or just cartoon physics?

I didn't know that!
