I do enjoy this meme. Opted for Jackie this round as I'm still new to drawing her and was hoping it'd give me some early perspective on her design. Her piratey outfit, fiddly bangles, and nonsense hair paraphernalia were greatly simplified so I wouldn't strangle her with her own jewelry for having to redraw it eight times.
I went with Paul Kidby as a favorite artist of mine, he's the illustrator behind Terry Pratchett's Discworld series and kick-ass
. I... can't even start. I just love everything he does and I'd love to be where he is as an artist in a decade or three.
Doing the shoujo panel always makes me laugh. Sorry, the only thing I find more annoying than super happy puppydog eye anime is super lazyass anime... like Pokémon. I'll never get over how astoundingly badly that series is animated. Then again, eight-year old me didn't think so when all I would have wished for myself was a Charizard of my very own...
Glen Keane forever. Just, for freaking ever. <3~KenDraw
! Oh god! This box is the hardest of all because there's a chance the artist will actually come by and see it. I'm sure I did this totally wrong but I tried. I've loved KenDraw's art since I ran into their gallery, stylistically it's like nothing else I get in my inbox and I adore the way they really, really push emotions and poses (and their OCs are wonderful!). Their art's just s'damn fun.
Aaaand, I never tag anybody so I threw something stupid into the tag box instead. My left hand has very, very minimal connection to my brain. Like, my brain requests we move the pencil in a circular motion, my left hand goes and makes a cup of coffee. This drawing looks
like coffee was involved. Loooots of coffee. Oh yeah... and realism. We don't talk about realism. >_>
Tom suffered through this meme a while back for the interested.
