The final project for Illustration class was two pages about a superhero based off some aspect of ourselves.
In tribute to my vertical handicap, meet The Speck, a strange little adventurer who saves the days in the smallest of ways. Decided to let my superhero be female because as always I sorely need practice with drawin' the ladies.
There's a race of diminutive sizeshifting humanoids in my Network stories so this was a nice way to get me thinking about them again. So many visual jokes with itsy-bitsy characters, I enjoy thinking up alternate uses for small objects in the hands of someone to which they are not so insignificant.
I don't know how widely the plastic sandwich sword is used in the world, but that's what her trusty blades are. In the very least dignifying colors available. I love those things.
